Going on vacation soon - can I have the Patrol Officers watch my home?
Yes, fill out the Vacation Patrol Request form by clicking here.

Who maintains our neighborhood mail boxes?  How do I get a new/replacement key?
Mail boxes for Longwood Village are serviced by the USPS office located at 16635 Spring Cypress Road - about half way between Longwood and US-290 on the left side of Spring Cypress Road as you travel towards US-290.  Their phone number is 281-373-9125.

Are we getting police coverage (via bicycle) from HOUSTON Police in Longwood? We did not think we were in Houston jurisdiction.
Regarding the Longwood Security patrols, you are correct in that we are not in the jurisdiction of the city of Houston, however, we are utilizing HPD officers as well as Harris County Sheriff deputies for off-duty security patrols.  The HPD officers, as well as the deputies, can enforce all State of Texas laws and have full police powers anywhere within the state.  Of course, the HPD officers cannot enforce any city of Houston ordinances, as we are outside of the city limits.  We are trying this different approach to ensure the safety and security of the neighborhood, including the use of officers on bikes as well as unmarked cars.  While the neighborhood enjoys a very low crime rate, our desire is that through this approach, we can reduce the very small amount of crime we do have.

How do I get a Recycle Bin?
The Longwood Homeowners' Association does not supply recycle bins, although all residents are encouraged to participate in this worthy endeavor.  A resident can go to places like Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. to purchase one to their liking.

How do I go about renting the Golf Clubhouse for an event?
Although the Longwood Golf Course & Club are located in our community, they are not owned or run by the Longwood HOA.  To request information and/or schedule an event at the Golf Club, please contact the Club's Sales Director - currently Marina Warner (281-373-4100 x17 or mawarner@CenturyGolf.com).

I have a dead tree on my property.  Do I need an ARC request to have it removed?
If the tree is dead or diseased, you do not need ARC approval. However, we do suggest that your contractor note on your invoice the state of the tree and for you to take a photo of the tree. This information would only be needed if a question would arise.

How do I get a Longwood Car Decal?
Residents who need Longwood decals for their cars may call PMG at 713-329-7186.

How do I report a street light outage?
If you notice street light outages, please report them to Centerpoint at 713-923-3213 or 713-207-2222 or go online at www.centerpointenergy.com/outage . Centerpoint will not know to repair lights until they are informed of an outage.  Providing the serial number on the pole ensures prompt service.

Who do I report a missing street or stop sign to?
If you notice a sign missing, please contact Harris County Community Assistance Department at 281-463-6300 (Precinct-3) or 713-755-6444 (Precinct-4).

Can Longwood Village get speed bumps installed to control speeders?
Harris County government does not authorize or install speed bumps for public streets and roads maintained by the County.

Generally, the most effective way to stop speeders is increased traffic enforcement and fines. Deterrents such as traffic signs and speed bumps generally do not significantly affect the problem in the long-term. Report speeders to the Constable or Sheriff's Department Patrol Division since we live in the unincorporated part of Harris County.

If you check at http://www.pct3.hctx.net/faq.aspx#ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_SectionViewer1_section1124, the above is what the county says on speed bumps.

What is the policy on solicitors?  I see the 'no soliciting' signs at the entrance of our neighborhood, but we get many solicitors! They make me feel very uncomfortable. What action can be taken?
The  No Soliciting signs that you see throughout Longwood is just a request at best. The reason is that the Law is very clear on this point. If the street you live on is a public street, you cannot legally stop people from soliciting. The only exception is if you live in one of the two gated communities - they can not solicit there due to the fact that their streets are private and are maintained by the gated communities themselves.

There are a few things you can do when a solicitor comes to your door. First, we would suggest you do not
open your door. Just ask them to leave. At that point, if they do not leave, they are legally trespassing and if you wish you can call the Police. Even if you do not call the Police, telling the solicitor you are will, in most cases, get them to remove themselves from your property. We recommend  to the women of Longwood when alone, is to say, "Please leave immediately - my husband is sleeping and I do not want him to be awakened". We hope this information is of some value to you.

I understand we can only have one garage sale per year in Longwood.  When is the annual garage sale held and what can I do if I have items that I need to get rid of at other times of the year?
You may want to try our Classified system.  It is a great way to advertise without the hassle!

Our Deed Restriction limits each household in Longwood to have no more than 1 garage sale per year.  However, Longwood sponsors a community-wide Garage Sale day each Spring.  These annual Garage Sales are typically scheduled for early May each year.  Watch for announcements on the Home page of this web site or in the Cardinal Newsletter.

The Association Fees seem to be increasing every year. What is going on?
The initial Association fee of $594 was established in 1994 and remained the same until 2006, when it increased a $100 to $694.  This $694 fee remained the same until 2009, when it increased $36 to $730.  The fee increased from $730 to $852 in 2014.

So, in 15 years the fees have increased a total of $136 (averages out to $9.07 per year).  Note that the three gated sections (Bristol Woods, The Parkes I, and the Parkes II) pay an additional $300 per year.

You'll find that our Association fees are much less than other community's in our area.

When and where does the HOA meet?
The HOA Meetings are scheduled for the fourth Thursday of each month (except for November and December - Thanksgiving and Christmas conflicts - usually these change to the third Thursday).  The location of the HOA Meetings is at the Lakewood Glen Community Center, 13310 Louetta Rd. (near Grant Rd.). An "open forum" begins at 6:30pm, with the HOA meeting beginning at 7:00pm.  Exceptions to the above dates and location will be posted on the Home page of the web site (www.longwoodvillagehoa.com).

I have just moved into the community.  Who do I contact to get the access card needed to get into the pool and tennis court area?
The Amenity Registration and Indemnification Form will provide you with the proper information.  Fill it out and submit it to Principal Management Group, Longwood's Management company.

How often do the community lawn maintenance companies provide service in Longwood?  Where can I report if I see items that need care?
